Brigadier Amarjit Singh Bal, a brave soldier who survived the 1965 war, served as intelligence officer under Lt. Col. Tarapor and was seriously injured when their tank came under enemy fire. He later fought heroically in the Battle of Basantar along with fellow Param Vir Chakra awardee Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya.
