Election Results 2024 updates: BJP is leading the INDIA Opposition alliance in Lok Sabha elections 2024 vote count. This time around, the BJP aims to win 370 seats while setting a target of 400 seats for the NDA. Experts in polling have forecasted a third consecutive term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

The Congress, weakened by-election defeats and a series of departures, is a member of the opposition group INDIA challenging the BJP. To establish the government, any party or alliance must have at least 272 seats to secure a majority.

The Lok Sabha election held this year was the second-lengthiest one since India's inaugural election in 1951-52. The Lok Sabha polls reflect a larger ideological battle between the BJP and INDIA alliance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the BJP's campaign. PM Modi, the main attraction of the party's campaign, attended more than 200 public events, such as rallies and roadshows. The campaign of the INDIA bloc included collaborative rallies by leaders of the Opposition.
Vote counting commenced at 8 o'clock under strict security measures.

The EVM vote counting will commence half an hour following the postal ballot count.
