Investors sold off some top stocks like M&M, TCS, and HDFC Bank on July 10, causing Indian stock market indices to close lower.

- The Sensex started the day at a new all-time high of 80,481.36 before dropping by more than one percent to reach an intraday low of 79,435.76. The index eventually ended the day with a decrease of 427 points, equivalent to 0.53 percent, settling at 79,924.77.

- The Nifty 50 reached its peak of 24,461.05 at the beginning of trading and dropped by more than one percent to 24,141.80. The main index closed down by 109 points, representing a decrease of 0.45% to settle at 24,324.45.

The top drag on the Nifty 50 index was Mahindra and Mahindra, TCS, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, and ICICI Bank as their shares ended lower.
