Kejriwal bail put on hold- court order next week
Court has decided to delay the verdict for 2-3 days in order to review all of the records.
The Delhi High Court has temporarily halted the trial court's decision to grant bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case related to the alleged excise scam, which means he will continue to stay in jail for the time being.
The AAP's leader arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, would have been released from Tihar jail on Friday if the high court had not given interim relief to the central anti-money laundering agency.
The high court announced that it would delay the order for 2-3 days in order to review all the records.
Notice was also sent to Kejriwal asking for his reply regarding the ED's request to challenge the trial court's decision to grant him bail. The request for a hearing was scheduled for July 10.
The High Court further mentioned that the decision made by the trial court will not be enforced until it listens to the ED's appeal disputing the assistance provided in the money laundering case.
The ED requested a hearing from Justices Sudhir Kumar Jain and Ravinder Dudeja for its appeal against the trial court order.
The ED had challenged the trial court's decision made on Thursday, where the court mentioned the ED's failure to provide concrete evidence directly connecting Kejriwal to the money laundering case.
