Kejriwal sent to 3-day CBI Custody

The Court approved a three-day CBI custody request for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested by the investigation agency in a corruption case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.

Special Judge Amitabh Rawat issued the ruling on a motion filed by the CBI. The probe agency officially arrested Kejriwal on Wednesday with approval from the court.

During the hearing, the judge stated- "CBI application is allowed for three days, the accused be produced before 7pm".

The CBI requested Kejriwal's custody in order to question him and uncover the larger conspiracy related to the matter.

It was also mentioned that the Delhi chief minister needed to be confronted with evidence and other individuals accused in the case.

Kejriwal will stay under CBI's custody until the end of his custodial interrogation in the corruption case, which may last up to 15 days. If he is unable to obtain bail for the cases being investigated by the CBI and ED, he will return to being held in judicial custody after his police remand expires in the current case.
