Ather intends to allocate Rs 2,000 Crore for setting up its third manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
The new facility in Maharashtra will give them access to more markets within the country, by lowering their logistics cost.
Ather- one of the major players in the electric two-wheeler industry plans to establish its third production plant in Bidkin, AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra.
On Wednesday, the company announced that this new facility will produce electric two-wheelers and battery packs.
Ather currently operates two manufacturing plants in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, one focused on battery manufacturing and the other on assembling vehicles. The existing facilities will keep manufacturing battery packs and vehicles.
Ather stated that the new facility in Maharashtra would enable them to reach new markets within the country and decrease their logistics expenses.
Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra- Devendra Fadnavis mentioned that Maharashtra provides a favourable business atmosphere and remains a leading choice for investments. He also stated that it is in line with PM Modi's vision of strengthening India's start up and manufacturing ecosystem.
The Deputy CM used his social media platform to announce that the investment exceeds Rs 2000 crore and will create jobs for about 4000 individuals.
