ALL EYES ON RAFAH : Israel bombs southern Gaza city amidst international anger and International Court of Justice decision.

" All eyes on Rafah" is a statement that highlights the continuous mass killing in this Gaza town. The expression is gaining popularity on social media as a wave of worldwide support flows in for the Palestinians impacted by the Israeli attacks. It became a major social media trend, as numerous individuals expressed their solidarity with the people of Gaza by reposting their stories on various social media platforms.

A minimum of 45 individuals, including children, lost their lives at a refugee camp in Gaza's Rafah following an airstrike conducted by Israel. Just days after the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to stop its operation in Rafah, the incident caused global anger, exacerbating Israel's international isolation due to the war in Gaza.

Israel initiated the assault on Rafah towards the end of Sunday, following a series of rocket attacks by Hamas on the Tel Aviv region, with the majority being stopped. Israeli forces continued their attack on the border town, which was previously regarded as the region's final sanctuary, even after receiving a directive from the top UN court last week to stop their actions in that area.

Rafah served as a significant gateway for humanitarian assistance until Israel intensified its military campaign on the Gaza border this month and took over the crossing. More than 1 million Palestinians have been forced to flee due to the conflict in Rafah, with the majority of them already displaced from the war between Israel and Hamas. Palestinians claim they are at risk of Israeli assaults no matter where they go and have been traveling throughout the Gaza Strip recently.

The International Court of Justice ordered Israel to halt its offensive in the city, adding to the unprecedented level of diplomatic pressure that Netanyahu is facing over the war in Gaza.

“Israel must immediately halt its military offensive and any other action in the Rafah Governorate which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that could bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part," Judge Nawaf Salam, the President of the ICJ, made a ruling that was backed by 13 out of the 15 judges.
