Police and officials stated that ten individuals lost their lives and 33 others were wounded when alleged terrorists attacked a bus transporting pilgrims from a shrine in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district on Sunday. The bus descended into a ravine after the assault.
Police stated that the terrorists attacked the bus returning from Shiv Khori temple in Reasi to Katra at 6:10 pm.
By 8:10 pm, all passengers were evacuated by the police with the assistance of local villagers. The Superintendent of Police (SP) in Reasi oversaw the evacuation and quickly transported the injured to various hospitals. Police reported that ten fatalities have been verified and the 33 wounded individuals were transferred to different hospitals in Reasi, Treyath, and Jammu.
Sources indicate that it is suspected the terrorists are concealing themselves in the higher regions of Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi.
A collaborative operation center involving the police, Indian Army, and CRPF was established at the location to coordinate a comprehensive operation in pursuit of the attackers.
