Opening the innings, India began strongly with Rohit Sharma at the forefront. The captain of India played a vital inning, making 92 runs in only 41 balls, setting a solid base for the team's overall score. He struck eight sixes and seven fours in his brilliant inning. Even though Virat Kohli got out early, Rohit stayed calm and went after fast bowler Mitchell Starc, scoring 29 runs in his second over, which had a big impact on India's batting innings.

Australia's batting order began well as they pursued the target, with Travis Head performing strongly, but ultimately succumbed to pressure as the game progressed. The team's downfall in wickets post the 13th over put them at a disadvantage for the remainder of the game. Before this time, Australia was level with India in a close competition. Australia scored a total of 181 runs before ending their innings.

India's bowlers showed outstanding restraint and precision. Kuldeep Yadav did exceptionally well in the middle overs with figures of 2/24, while Arshdeep Singh finished with figures of 3/37.

India's victory in the Super 8 stage keeps them undefeated and significantly increases their chances of reaching the semi-finals. On the contrary, Australia is struggling to make it to the semi-finals.
