Stock Market Highlights | Friday- 14th June
On June 14, both Nifty and Sensex benchmark indices were in the red, dropping by 0.25 percent each. The IT sector saw the largest fall with the Nifty IT Index falling to 0.75% in the morning trade.
Around 9:30 am, Sensex and Nifty experienced a drop, with the Sensex coming down to 76,618, while Nifty closed at 23,350. A total of 1,590 shares increased, 1216 shares decreased, and 125 shares stayed the same.
However, Nifty 50 reached a new record despite receiving negative signals from global markets due to increasing expectations of a rate cut by the US Federal Reserve.
The Sensex started the day at 76,912.38, reached a peak of 77,081.30, and ended at 76,992.77, gaining 181.87 points, or 0.24%. At the same time, the Nifty 50, starting with an opening of 23,464.95, achieved a new peak of 23,490.40, ending at 23,465.60. It marked an increase of 66.70 points, equivalent to 0.29%.
The markets have experienced increases in the past for three consecutive sessions, with Sensex and Nifty reaching new peaks during this period. Experts mentioned that the indices may consolidate at these levels.
Fifteen of the 30 stocks on the BSE Sensex ended the day in negative territory. The top performers for the day were Mahindra & Mahindra, Titan, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, and UltraTech Cement, while the top laggards were Tech Mahindra, TCS, Wipro, HCL Tech, and Larsen & Toubro.
