Domestic sales of Tata Motors decreased by 8 percent in June.

Tata Motors saw a decrease of 8 % in total domestic wholesales to 74,147 units in June, as per the report released on Monday. The company sold 80,383 units in the domestic market last year.

It was reported that sales of passenger vehicles, including electric vehicles, in the local market dropped by 8 % to 43,624 units in June from 47,359 units in the same month last year.

He stated that the car manufacturer is well-prepared to take advantage of this rising opportunity due to the high demand for SUV models like Punch and Nexon, along with upcoming new releases.

During the time of April-June, the number of passenger vehicles delivered was 1,38,682 units, slightly lower than the 1,40,450 units from the previous year. Commercial vehicle sales also fell by 8 percent last month to 30,623 units, down from 33,148 units in June 2023.

Tata Motors Executive Director Girish Wagh said that the anticipation of a good monsoon, belief in policy stability, and ongoing focus on infrastructure projects by the government will likely boost the demand for commercial vehicles in the future.

He also mentioned that the need for employees, intercity travel, and stagecoach services is expected to stay strong, despite the usual decrease in school transportation during the second quarter.

The company reported a 7 % increase in commercial vehicle sales, with 87,615 units sold in the April-June quarter compared to 82,225 units sold in the same period last year.
