Sarbananda Sonowal, a prominent Indian politician, is affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sonowal, born in Molokgaon, Assam on October 31, 1962, has had a significant impact on the political landscape of Assam and India. Before joining the BJP in 2011, he began his political journey with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP). Before becoming Chief Minister, he was a Member of Parliament and served as the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports in the Narendra Modi government. In the year 2021, he was appointed as both Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways and Minister of AYUSH, concentrating on promoting traditional medicine and improving maritime infrastructure.
