Stock Market Highlights | 9th July
Sensex and Nifty bounced back on Tuesday, reaching new all-time closing highs driven by increases in auto and FMCG stocks and foreign capital inflow.
- The BSE Sensex, consisting of 30 shares, increased by 391.26 points or 0.49% to reach a record closing high of 80,351.64. Throughout the day, it increased by 436.79 points or 0.54%, reaching a record high of 80,397.17.
- The NSE Nifty reached a new all-time closing high, gaining 112.65 points or 0.46% to reach 24,433.20. Throughout the day, it climbed 123.05 points or 0.50 percent to reach a new all-time high of 24,443.60.
Maruti Suzuki India saw a 6% increase in its stock among Sensex shares following news that the UP government had exempted registration taxes on hybrid cars to encourage the use of eco-friendly vehicles in the state. Other major gainers included Mahindra & Mahindra, Titan, Sun Pharma, ITC, Nestle, and Tata Motors. Reliance Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finance, and JSW Steel were among the underperformers.
